Examples of Usage 1: Mouse pups can be easily produced without the presence of a male mouse by using only the cauda epididymides of a male mouse. This can be sent safely and cheaply at cold temperatures using our cold transport kit. Simply preincubate the spermatozoa taken from the cauda epididymides in FERTIUP Mouse Sperm Preincubation Medium, then carry out in vitro fertilization using CARD MEDIUM, and transfer the embryos obtained into the recipient parents.
Examples of Usage 2: Whole colonies of mice can be transported by using the CARD Cold Transport Kit. Embryos, instead of live mice are transported at cold temperatures, and the recipient institution will transfer the embryos into the recipient parents to obtain pups.
We recommend usage of the "CARD Cold transport Kit" with "Cold storage solution for cauda epididymides (Cat#. KYD-007-EX)" .
The CARD Cold Transport Kit is specially-designed for cheap, safe transport of mouse cauda epididymides and embryos at cold temperatures. The CARD Cold Transport Kit allows users to reduce transport cost of live mice while also eliminating the risk of mouse fatalities or escapes during transport. Users can also prevent the transmission of pathogens using the CARD Cold Transport Kit.
