Anti Streptolysin 0 polyclonal antibody

Background

Streptolysin 0 (SL0) is a membrane-damaging extracellular toxin produced by hemolytic streptococci. In the hemolytic streptococci infection, the antibodies to various proteins secreted from the bacteria such as toxins increase. For the diagnostic confirmation of SL0 production by the infection, the measurement of the antibody, ASL0 (Anti-Streptolysin 0), is most widely used .
The product was prepared by immunizing rabbit with purified recombinant SL0 of Group C hemolytic streptococci produced in E. coli as antigen. Using this antiserum it is possible to detect the SL0 secreted into the culture supernatant not only of Group A hemolytic streptolysin 0 but also of Group C and G origins.

Application

1) Western blotting (x2,000~10,000 dilution)
2) Neutralization of hemolysis by Streptolysin 0 (SL0)

*The anti-streptolysin 0 antibodies (ASL0) sold in the current market is obtained from SL0 antigen purified from the culture supernatant of hemolytic streptococci. But the antigens are contaminated with other secreted proteins. The present product was prepared from SL0 which was over-expressed in E. coli as recombinant protein and purified , thus showing extremely high specification ( figure).
